2. Each member is limited to one (1) item in the sale. The 4-H or FFA member must represent their own animal or ham. If an exhibitor receives Champion or Reserve Champion in a market species show or ham show, they will be granted the opportunity to re-declare their sale choice within 1 hour after completion of their last show.
3. A youth may not sell the same type item in our sale and again in another 4-H/FFA sale; i.e.: a steer in Ralls Co. and another steer in Monroe Co.; or a hog in Monroe Co. and another hog in Ralls Co. But a youth may sell a steer in Monroe Co. and a ham ins Ralls Co.
4. All steers must be broke to lead.
5. In order to be eligible, the animal or ham to be sold must have been shown by the owner at the Monroe County 4-H and FFA Youth Fair. Steers must have been weighed at weigh day in February.
6. A fee of 2% will be deducted from the seller's check at the sale to cover expenses for the Buyer's Appreciation Supper. Any monies over and above supper expense will be used for facility maintenance.
7. All feed additives are to be withdrawn in accordance with label directions.
8. Weights for animals and hams will be those of show date.
9. Animals must be in place for the sale by 4:30 p.m. day of sale. The Ham committee will transport hams that are to be sold. All sellers must check in at the sale trailer by 5:30 pm. Violation is cause for NO SALE.
10. Sale sequence is on a rotating basis and will be announced during fair week. This order will change yearly.
11. Members must complete and return to the Monroe County Extension Office, a livestock consignment form and project record sheet by the June 11, 2010 to be eligible to sell.
12. Exhibitors must be present and show their own animal or ham during fair.
13. Sellers need to indicate which animal or ham is to be sold at draw time.
14. This sale of cattle, hogs, and sheep is based on premiums. A market specialist will establish a base price for these animals. This price is related to the market value of the animal as presented that day. The bidding will begin at the base price and continue until a final bid has been announced. The seller will receive the difference between the announced sale price and the base price of the animal. The seller retains ownership and may market the animal as desired. The buyer does have the option to pay the entire purchase price of the animal and have the animal delivered to the locker of their choice. Poultry, Rabbit and Ham products are sold for entire purchase price only. These items will have no base price; buyers may take possession of those items the night of sale.
15. Monroe County Fair will abide by State Fair regulations.
16. If an exhibitor retains the right to show at the Missouri State Fair and is required to slaughter as a condition of State Fair winnings, all sale proceeds from the Monroe County Livestock Sale will be returned by the seller to the purchaser.
17. FFA members selling at the Monroe County Livestock and Ham Sale will follow 4-H rules and regulations (weigh-in dates, ownership dates, etc.).
18. Sellers will not receive payment for their animal the night of the sale. Sale proceeds will be mailed or given to the club leader 10 days from the sale date unless your buyer has not yet paid.
19. Any item donated back to the Fair Board after being auctioned may sell again at the end of the sale at the buyer’s request to benefit any Fair Youth Program.
20. Clean Up - All exhibitors that sell during the livestock and ham sale are expected to assist with cleanup of the barns and grounds following the sale. Check out by everyone selling will be expected. All those selling must check out at the sale trailer before leaving the fairgrounds. Failure to do so will result in premium withholding.
21. Any deviation from these rules will be left to the discretion of the sale committee, Fair Board, or Specie Committee.
