HEALTH REGULATIONS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. SEE RULES HERE.
All Beef Cattle Exhibitors must be in place at 2:00 p.m.
Steer weigh-in will begin at 2:30 p.m.

Entry Fee: $2.00
Premium: Blue - 50 Points, Red - 35 Points, White - 20 Points
The Bucket Calf Show will be open to 8-12 year old 4-H members in good standing, currently enrolled in the Bucket Calf Project or Exploring in Monroe County only.
RULES:
1. Calf must be born from February 1, 2010 to May 15, 2010.
2. Calf must be owned and hand-fed by project member since it was two (2) weeks old.
3. Calf may be any breed or sex (heifer, steer or bull).
4. Calf is not eligible to be shown in other classes (beef/dairy).
5. Calf should be broken to lead and be shown by proper method according to breed (beef or dairy).
6. Classes will be divided by exhibitor s age if necessary.
7. Criteria for judging:
25% - Showmanship
25% - Condition, Health and Grooming of calf
20% - Quality of calf (Structural, Soundness, etc.)
30% - Knowledge Gained (Judge will talk with exhibitor using microphone.)
A. Breed B. Age C. Feeding Practices D. Growth Changes (measurements of height and chest circumferences and/or weight.)
E. Medicines (Vaccinations, Worming, Etc.)
8. Each member is limited to no more than 1 calf.

The Junior Beef Cattle Show will be open to 4-H & FFA members in good standing currently enrolled in the Beef Cattle Project.
BREEDING ANIMALS RULES:
1. A $7.00 entry fee per animal will be collected at the time of entry.
2. Premium will be awarded according to the following scale: Blue - 50 points, Red - 35 points, White - 20 points
3. All purebred breeding animals must have registration papers that are recorded in the junior exhibitor’s name. The ownership date must be May 1 or before.
4. Each exhibitor is limited to two entries per class.
5. Exhibitors must accompany their animals to the show, care for them and exhibit them unless given prior approval.
6. All breeding stock that do not qualify for a purebred class listed below will show in the commercial class, the committee having the right to add or drop classes.
7. All classes of females will show for Supreme Heifer, except cow/calf winner.

Junior Heifer Calf: (Calved between Jan. 1 and July 18, 2010)
Senior Heifer Calf: (Calved between Sept. 1 and Dec. 31, 2009)
Summer Yearling Heifer: (Calved between May 1 and Aug. 31, 2009)
Late Jr. Yearling Heifer: (Calved between Mar. 1 and Apr. 30, 2009)
Early Jr. Yearling Heifer: (Calved between Jan. 1 and Feb. 28, 2009)
Senior Yearling Heifer: (Calved between Sept. 1 and Dec. 31, 2008)
Cow and Calf: (Any female with calf shown at side)

JUNIOR BEEF STEER SHOW

Performance Class: Rate of Gain
Class is limited to Monroe County 4-H and FFA Members only. Awards based on steer’s average daily gains in a given feed period. Steer must have weighed in early spring to qualify to show in the Average Daily Gain Contest. Prize: First - $10.00, Second - $7.50, Third - $5.00, Fourth - $2.50
MARKET STEER CLASSES
Rules: All Monroe County steers must be weighed at spring weigh day to be shown at the fair and sell at sale on July 29.
1. Steers will be divided into classes for show by their weight.
2. A $7.00 entry fee will be collected per animal.
3. Premium will be awarded on the basis of the following system: Premium: Blue - 50 points, Red - 35 points, White - 20 points
4. All steers must be born after Jan. 1, 2008, and not have a broken mouth.
5. If any questions arise as to ownership or health, the state regulations will be followed.
6. Exhibitors must accompany their animals to the show, care for them, and exhibit them unless given prior approval.
7. Monroe County steers will be required to wear ear tags to show.
Home Raised Monroe County Steer: Animals in this category must be offspring of a female owned by exhibitor or exhibitor s parents or exhibitor’s guardian and must have been continuously owned by exhibitor or exhibitor’s parents or guardian from birth until show time. This class is the first class of the steer show.

Not sure I understand the "pure stupidity" comment. If you are referring to the tent apparently you did not attend meetings or were given wrong information. The tent was going to be used to help decide where to put a permanent building. So if trying to improve the fair for the youth of this community is stupid, I guess you're right. But please don't hide behind an Anonymous signature when trying to bash those of us who try to do right by your children.
