Interviews are closed to the public. Evening Gown Competition and Coronation is during Intermission of Becky Blackaby concert. (approx. 8:45 p.m.) Becky's concert is $5 Admission ~ 12 & under free with paying adult

RULES AND REGULATIONS

The Monroe County Fair Queen Pageant will be run in accordance with the Missouri State Fair Pageant rules. Entrants agree to abide by all rules of the Monroe County Fair Pageant that are in effect now or as announced later. Entrants agree that the time, manner, and method of judging shall be solely at the discretion of the Monroe County Fair and the decision of the judges will be final. Entrants agree to pay an entry fee of $10.

1. Contestants shall be female citizens of the United States.

2. Contestants shall be past or present members of Monroe County 4-H or an FFA Chapter in Monroe County. (Paris, Madison or Monroe City)

3. Contestants must have exhibited at the Monroe County Fair in FFA or 4-H, and consider the Monroe County Fair as their hometown fair.

4. Contestants shall be single, never married and not co-habiting with a male.

5. Contestants shall be not less than 17 or more than 22 years of age on September 1, 2010.

6. Entries shall be postmarked no later than July 1, 2010.

7. Entry fees and the official entry form must be sent to: Nancy Wilkerson 26158 Rt. D Paris, MO 65275 A complete entry will include the following: a) $10.00 entry fee. b) Completed official entry form. c) Completed information sheet for the Emcee. [both b and c are available below for download]

8. Contestants shall present a speech or perform a talent not to exceed three minutes. If the time limit is exceeded a penalty will be assessed from the contestants point total. Contestants will be responsible for providing their own accompaniment.

9. Selection of the queen will be based on the following scoring basis: 40% Personal interviews 40% Public speaking or talent performance 20% Evening gown

10. The queen and the runner-up will remain for a short time immediately following the coronation for publicity photographs.

11. Conduct deemed to be improper and detrimental to the Monroe County Fair or the queen pageant will be reason for disqualification and dismissal by the superintendent.

12. If the Monroe County Fair Queen fails to complete her term, the title will be passed to the runner-up.

13. The Queen will receive a crown and a flower bouquet, along with eligibility for the Missouri State Fair Pageant. The Runner-up will receive a flower bouquet. All contestants will receive a gift bag from local sponsors. Additional prizes may be awarded if sponsorships can be arranged.

Both the forms that contestants need to send in along with their entry fee have been added here for download. Entry needs to be postmarked no later than July 1.

The deadline for entry is July 1st. Ladies, this contest is a great opportunity for you to show your talent and speaking abilities as well as represent your fair.
